- Install the
EZ-GPS instrument into one or more of your aircraft. If
you haven't alredy done so, follow the instructions on our installation page.
- If you've
already purchased EZ-GPS, click
here to go to Page 4.
- If you haven't
purchased EZ-GPS, you can use EZ-GPS now in DEMO
MODE. In DEMO MODE you can see how easy it is to navigate in
either the Chicago area (if you're running FS98) or the Leiston
Airfield area (if you're running CFS). For CFS click
here to go to Page 2.
- For FS98,
First choose your aircraft from Aircraft | Select Aircraft
menu. Be sure to choose an aircraft for which you've installed
the new EZ-GPS instrument. Take off from Meigs Field by
using the menus to select World | Goto | Airport and choose
Merrill C Meigs
- Take off and
when you reach a safe altitutde - say 2000 feet or so - click
on the AP button. The green light will illuminate indicating that EZ-GPS
has engaged the autopilot. Your aircraft will turn towards its
first waypoint - Glenview CGAS - about 16 nm away.
- If you click the Alarm
button, the red
light will illuminate indicating
that the alarm is set. When you're within 5nm of the waypoint,
the red alarm light will begin flashing.
- When you are within .5 nm
of the waypoint, EZ-GPS will change to the next waypoint.
The autopilot will also be reset to steer you to the new waypoint.
- EZ-GPS will continue to change: Glenview,
Palwaukee, O'Hare, Midway, and Beebee. When it reaches the last
waypoint (Beebee), both the GPS and the autopilot will remain
set on its last heading.
