- Q. How can I evaluate EZ-GPS?
A. Click the Download button below to receive the full package. It's only 1.3MB so you can download and install EZ-GPS in a few minutes.
- Q. How long can I run EZ-GPS in DEMO MODE?
A. You can use EZ-GPS in DEMO MODE indefinitely. However, the navigation is restricted to a few select locations. For FS98, you can fly to six waypoints in the Chicago area. For CFS, you can fly to four waypoints in the Leiston Airfield (U.K.) area.
- Q. What destinations are in the Flight Planner?
A. The Flight Planner uses the default FS98 airports VORs and NDBs and the default CFS airfields. You can also add any other waypoints to a flight plan by entering their latitude and longitude.
- Q. Can I "generate" my own flight plan?
A. Yes. The format of an EZ-GPS flight plan is very straight-forward.
A flight plan is an ASCII text file made of several 'records'. Each record is a single text line which represents a waypoint. The first record is a placeholder waypoint - usually the departure point. The last record is the destination waypoint. Intermediate records are the intervening waypoints.
Each record has these three fields separated by at least one space:
Examples:
42.882635 -85.52396 "Kent County Intl KGRR"
51.2225 6.523666667 "Monchengladbach"
-22.809868 -43.240284 "Rio de Janeiro Intl. Galeao SBGL"
- Q. I'm trying to use the EZ-GPS autopilot feature. When I click on the AP button, the plane doesn't turn towards the next waypoint. Is there a problem?
A. Some designers are careful to replicate the exact operation of the original aircraft and deliberately exclude an autopilot instrument from their models. Thus, EZ-GPS isn't able to link to the autopilot. You can still navigate to your waypoint by following its CDI indicator. Alternatively, you can add an autopilot instrument to the aircraft model by using a "flight dynamics editor" such as ADE or AirEd.
- Q. When I install the EZ-GPS instrument for one of my aircraft panels, it is actually installed in a different aircraft. Why?
A. The first aircraft actually "borrows" the panel from a "parent" aircraft. If you view the "borrowed" aircraft's panel.cfg file, you'll see that it has an 'alias=' statement that refers to the "parent" aircraft. To install the EZ-GPS instrument for the "borrowed" aircraft, it must be installed in the "parent" aircraft.
- Q. How can I purchase EZ-GPS?

Either way, you'll be given a registration key. When you run the Flight Planner for the first time, enter the registration key to unlock the simple flight planning capabilities of EZ-GPS.
- Q. How do I order over the Internet?
A. You can purchase a registration key to unlock the full capabilities of EZ-GPS by clicking the Order button below.
- Q. Who do I contact if I have further questions about EZ-GPS?
