The Classic Airliner
The Abacus DC-3 served as an airliner for Northwest Airlines until 1950's. Designed by noted flight simmer John Kelley, one of the famed Virtual Skunks, it's been sitting unused in a Minneapolis hangar for several years. By chance, we happened upon it and purchased it for our livery.
We then commissioned Tim Dickens, another noted flight simmer, to help restore N39554. Tim repainted the entire aircraft with the Abacus "We Fly the World" logo and added modern instrumentation.
After several months of extensive flight testing, the Abacus DC-3 is again ready to fly. We're happy to present one of the all-time favorite aircraft for the whole world to fly. It's our gift to flight simmers around the world.
